Video of this Week’s Book Release Event
Books shipped on October 1. By Thursday night at Annie Bloom’s Bookstore in Portland, OR the word was out enough to draw a full house for the first public reading from 100 VOICES – AMERICANS TALK ABOUT CHANGE. We were thrilled with the turn out and completely delighted with the fact that the store sold out of books.
Now, thanks to the talent and generosity of friend and volunteer, Jesse Combs here is the video of the event.
Over the past three days we’ve learned that ours is for sure a grass roots endeavor. The ‘we’ in this case is the team of two — Gregory Ayers, founder of LoudMouth Press and publisher of 100 VOICES, and me. Greg and I met for the first time face-to-face just before the reading. We’ve worked very well together over e-mail — from idea all the way to published book. Turns out we work pretty well together in person, too — besides the fact that we both love Saag Panir (mmmmm, East Indian cuisine!).
Our next plans include you. Please check out the video and the book and if you like what you see and read, pass the word. Ask bookstores in your area to order 100 VOICES. Let us know of book groups, community groups, church groups, college and university folk who would be interested in EX:Change conversations. Once we know of interest, we’ll start charting a route for continuing the EX:Change — the radical act of listening across differences.
With enthusiasm and gratitude with and for you all!
